SRINAGAR: Heavy rains lashed the Kashmir Valley on Monday, leading to water-logging in several areas.
Srinagar received 14.3 mm of rainfall till 8.30 a.m.
The meteorological office forecast moderate to rather heavy rainfall at most places in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours. However, it predicted decrease in precipitation from Tuesday and another spell rain/thundershowers from the evening of April 30 to May 1.
Kupwara district received the highest rainfall of 31.4 mm during Sunday night.
Minimum temperature at Pahalgam and Gulmarg on Monday was 7.4 and 2.6 degrees Celsius respectively. Leh town in Ladakh region recorded a minimum of 8.4 degrees Celsius.
In Jammu region, Banihal town recorded a minimum temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius, Katra town 20.5 degrees and Bhaderwah town 12.6 degrees.
