SRINAGAR: Kashmir Motors, dealer of the international renowned off road vehicle company Polaris, on Sunday handed over eleven All Terrain Vehicles (ATV) to owners at Gulmarg.
These newly developed ATV’s by the company are tough and compact small open motor vehicle designed for use over rough terrains.
Kashmir Motor has tied up with State Cooperation Bank to provide finance for2 these ATV’s to desired person, with no mortage required for avling such vechiles.
Vice president Kashmir Motors Ufair Ajaz, whose is the man behind the to introduce ATVs told Kashmir Reader that ATVs are being offered by the company with the aim to boost tourism in this, meadow of flowers.
“I got this idea from various European countries where people climb rough terrains using these ATVs machines,” he said adding that Kashmir is full with rough terrains which makes it an apt vehicle for carrying forward adventure tourism.
The company officials said that Snow scooters and ATVs are the only two modern machines which can take tourists to higher terrains in Kashmir.
Ufair said that both these modern vehicles were introduced by them and there has visible success in taking the adventure tourism to new high.
Kashmir Regional Manager Polaris HS Sodhi said these ATVs can also be used effectively for rescue as well for law enforcement.
Sodhi said that ATVs not only travel faster, but have the capacity to negotiate well the rough climatic conditions.
“During the 2014 avalanche that hit Gulmarg, about 60 people were rescued which was possible only when ATVs were available,” Sodhi Said.
Kashmir Motors is backed by a prominent business family with the company involved in automobile business in the valley. It was also awarded leading dealer across India for the financial year 2014-15.
