Srinagar: Srinagar Municipal Corporation Friday referred ‘fictitious’ building permission cases and date of birth certificates to crime branch for investigation.
In a statement, SMC spokesperson said that on receipt of report through JCP regarding fraudulently issued building permission, the Commissioner referred the several cases including that of Mohammad Amin Shora son of Late Ali Mohammad Shora of Darishkadal, Nalbandpora, Safakadal , Bashir Ahmad Najar son of Ali Mohammad Najar of Shalteng Pathpora, Srinagar, Mohammad Shafi Batloo son of Gh. Mohammad Batloo of Zaldager and Gh. Nabi Wani son of Ali Mohammad Wani of Shaheed Gunj.
The spokesperson also said that in receipt of same type of report from HO, the cases of following person were referred for investigation which include Duha Asif daughter of Asif Iqbal Maharaza of Dabtal Zainakadal, Sheikh Adeena son of Shahnaz Ayub of Bilmilla Colony Kanitar Naseem Bagh and Bilal Ahmad Matoo son of : Abdul Khaliq of Barbar Shah.
The statement said that the Commissioner, SMC immediately reacted upon reporting and referred the matter to IGP Crime Branch, JK for enquiry “so that the culprits are prosecuted under relevant provision of the law.”
“In the mean time the above detailed building permissions and date of birth certificates shall be treated as null and void,” the statement said.
