JK Tourism participates in New Delhi exhibition

SRINAGAR: Taking forward its campaign for publicity of J&K tourism in the global market, a team from J&K Tourism department participated in the three-day exhibition in New Delhi.
An official handout issued here said the event, named GET India—a Global Exhibition on Tourism, was held in Pragati Maidan and was inaugurated Thursday evening by Prime Minster of India, Narendra Modi.
The event has been organised by Federation of Associations in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH), providing an opportunity to the tourist states to do business with international buyers from across the globe.
A team of officers from Tourism department interacted with the international buyers who are participating in the event in large numbers.
“As many as 110 international buyers visited J&K stall and showed a lot of interest in knowing about the tourism products of the state. Most of them assured the J&K Tourism team that, in near future, J&K would be their preferred tourist destination,” the handout said.
About 250 exhibition booths have been set up in the show, with companies showcasing a wide range of tourism and travel services.
The officers of J&K Tourism briefed the buyers about various tourism products offered by the state, stating that J&K “is the only state in the world possessing all kinds of tourism products including leisure, skiing, rafting, pilgrimage, and heritage”, the handout said.
The officers and office bearers of various travel bodies also briefed the visitors about different tourism products of the state.
