Khadi Village Board created 49,720 jobs in six years

SRINAGAR: The Khadi Village Industry Board (KVIB) has created employment for 49,720 persons in the state in the last six years, the government said Thursday.
“The Board has cleared 7,174 cases under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in last six years thus creating employment for 49,720 persons,” Vice-Chairman, KVIB, Aga Syed Mohammad Rizvi, was told by officers in a meeting held in Jammu. Rizvi was reviewing the objectives and achievements registered by the Board in past one year.
He also took stock of the progress made by KVIB in promotion and development of Khadi and Village Industries, production of Khadi products, providing employment, creating self reliance amongst people, and in building rural community spirit.
