Geelani condemns 20-year imprisonment to Morsi

Srinagar: Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani Wednesday condemned the announcement of 20 years of imprisonment to former president of Egypt, Mohammad Morsi.
In a statement, Geelani termed it as “the worst kind of state terrorism.” “This decision is the murder of democracy and it has no justification. Egyptian rulers have got direct support of America and Israel in the prosecution of the people having Islamic ideology and the silence of the Muslim countries is very unfortunate and sorrowful.”
Geelani said that Western countries follow the dual standards when it comes to the ideological Muslims. “These countries are maintaining a criminal silence over the atrocities lashed upon the leaders and activists of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The international human rights organizations are also mum over this issue,” he added.
