Burglars set shops on fire in Hajin

HAJIN: Business owners in Hajin area of Bandipora are a worried lot after burglars broke into many shops before setting them on fire.
Locals said that burglars have looted several shops in the past one week and set ablaze the shops of Sajad Ali and Mohammad Shafi. Both the shops were totally damaged in the fire.
A group of traders told Kashmir Reader that on Monday again shop lifters broke into the shop of Ghulam Nabi near Banger Mohallah Bridge in Hajin, stealing goods worth Lakhs of rupees.
“A shop was set on fire by the burglars in same area after decamping with goods from it,” they said.
Following the rise in thefts the traders lodged a complaint with Police.
Traders Federation Hajin Mohammad Muzafar Parray was aghast over the rising incidents of burglary in the town.
“We have already brought the matter into the notice of police and have demanded night patrolling in the area. If police fails to nab the culprits we will be forced to take to the streets,” he said.
He appealed the concerned Station House Officer to look into the matter personally and said that police must start patrolling in the town so that they can feel secure.
