SRINAGAR: The Havells India Limited opened its first office in this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a release issued here Tuesday, India’s $1.4-billion leading Fast Moving Electrical Goods (FMEG) Company and a major power distribution equipment manufacturer said it is the first office in Kashmir Valley by any electrical company.
“Srinagar office of Havells is centrally located at Sara city center with all the modern facilities like video conferencing facility,” it said.
The office was inaugurated by Ravinder Mantoo, Business Head of Havells in presence of the company’s team and dealers, it said.
It said the new branch of Havells will have strength of close to 20 people, to begin with, while the company plans to expand it rapidly. The company said it already has an office in Jammu, which was opened in the last year and is already doing “sizeable business” in the state.
“With an ever-growing aim of inching closer to our consumers, this is yet again a small step towards our big goal to empower customers with best products available in the market,” Mantoo was quoted as saying on the occasion.
“Also, this initiative reassures company’s commitment towards its esteemed distributors across the country to provide them an ease of doing business. Today we can proudly say that Havells is present from Srinagar to Kanyakumari with its own branches,” he added.
The company said it sells its products in 50 countries across four continents.
The company’s manufacturing is also spread across the world with 11 state-of-the-art manufacturing plants in India and six similar plants in Europe, Latin America and Africa, it said, adding that, given the enormous size, scale and reach of its operations, Havells has a 20,000 strong workforce backed by 6,500 professionals spread across 92 branches and representative offices.
