Sgr-Muzaffarabad road still closed

Muzaffarabad: The district administration officials had to rush to border town Chakothi on Wednesday after residents threatened to march toward the Line of Control against government’s failure to clear the landslide-hit Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road.
Reports said that officials of Hattian district administration and police were in Chakothi border town to negotiate with the representatives of traders and residents for withdrawal of the call to march to LOC, just three kilometers away from the town.
Traders and residents had decided in a meeting to march towards LOC bridge if Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road was not opened for traffic within two days.
Reportedly, the traders and the locals withdrew the LOC march call after officials assured to open the road within couple of days.
Hundreds of trucks loaded with fruits and other trading goods are stuck near the landslide areas on both sides of LOC.
The locals said that the residents of Chakothi town and its adjoining villages are facing food and other life commodities shortage owing to road closure for several days.
