Class VI aspirants ask CAPD to make selection list public

BARAMULLA: The waiting list candidates for class IV posts in Consumer Affairs and Public distribution Department (CAPD) are up in arms against the department for not publishing the revised selection list after many of the selected candidates did not join.
A group of candidates who had figured in waiting list after applying for the posts in 2012 said that the department was dilly dallying to revise the list even after eight months.
“After the selection list was published in local dailies, we figured in waiting list and subsequently at least 18 candidates didn’t joint or left the job. The normal procedure was that the department publishes a second selection list dropping those who were not willing to join and including people from the waiting list. Till date we are being harassed and dragged by department,” said the candidates.
“We feel that the department is deliberately delaying the process. We are visiting the district office every week and every week we are being told that the list will be out soon, but nothing happened for the past eight months”, they alleged.
“We also approached Deputy Commissioner Mushtaq Ahmad Shah in this regard but nothing has been done so far ,” Tahir Ahmad, one of the candidates said.
Assistant Director CAPD Baramulla, Dr Sheeba said that they would publish the list in a few days.
