Joint surveys to assess losses, reiterates Agri Min

SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura Saturday visited various rain-hit areas of Jammu region and reiterated that the authorities would conduct jaunt surveys to assess damages infected on the farmers.
The Minister visited Badyal Brahmna, Dherian, Hansa Chak, Agra Chak, Fateh Pur Salarian, Baspur Bangla, Suchetgarh, Abdul Basti and RS Pura and took stock of the damages to standing crops due to recent rains.
While interacting with the farmers, Hanjura said every possible help would be provided by the government to the affected families.
“The Agriculture and Revenue Departments have already been asked to conduct joint survey and assess the losses and submit their report to the concerned quarters immediately, so that the compensation could be given to the deserving people,” he said.
He said the government is aware of the farmers’ problems, stating that various state and centre-sponsored schemes have been launched across for benefit of farmers. Hanjura also directed the concerned authorities to issue Kissan Credit Cards to the deserving farmers.
