SRINAGAR: Animal Husbandry Department Friday established Low Technology-Dual Purpose Poultry Farms in Ramban district of Jammu region and distributed about 1,800 Dual Purpose Poultry chicks among the farmers.
The chicks were distributed among poultry farmers from Pernote, Kabbi, Thalwa and Kanga villages of Ramban block to have them establish mini-poultry farms under National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA).
Earlier, the sarpanchs of the area resolved and selected around eight trained poultry farmers to have the day old chicks reared for a month and subsequently distributed among the small farmers on a pre-decided percentage basis.
Sarpanches, Panches, progressive farmers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ramban, Ramesh Razdan, assured full support to the farmers for best yield.
