Srinagar: Inter-district Teachers Association on Sunday held a protested in city centre Lal Chowk demanding transfer to their parent districts.
The association comprising of teachers recruited by SSRB in 2009 under Inter-district Recruitment Policy organized a rally at Press Enclave.
The teachers holding placards and banners demanded transfer to their parent districts as “being posted outside their parent districts was proving baneful to their families and was not helping education in any way for the past 6 years”.
Inter-district recruitment was banned by the J&K Assembly during Omar Abdullah-led government.
The association appealed Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and Education Minister Nayeem Akhtar to fulfill their genuine demands on humanitarian grounds as they have a lot of expectations from the new regime.
