Baramulla: Hundreds of families in low lying areas of Sopore are still living in tents after their houses were submerged due to incessant rains.
People, who are using boats to reach their houses inundated in water, wanted government for more efforts to mitigate their sufferings.
Many families of Shercolony, Mahrajpora, amd Tarzoo have been facing huge problems after flood water from river Jhelum entered their houses from all sides.
Abdul Gaffar, a local of Shercolony, said that the government gave them some tents and blankets but those were not proving to be enough for their families.
Fayaz Ahmad, village sarpanch of Tarzoo, said that many schools and other residential huts in the area were submerged and people were expecting government to help them in this hour of need.
