SRINAGAR: Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday assured that the party’s relief and rehabilitation wing, Darul Khair will pro¬vide every possible help to the rain affected fam¬ilies of the Valley.
In a statement, Mir¬waiz while express¬ing concern over the continuous rain in Kashmir said that Darul Khair would ex¬tend all possible help to affected families in¬cluding monetary help.
Meanwhile, the state¬ment said that Mirwaiz visited Bottakadal, lal Bazaar, Khanyar and Miskeenbagh Rainwara to take on the spot stock of situation.
He also expressed sympathy and solidarity with the Afsha Khan of Naribal Lalbazaar, Abdul Gaffar Malaratta, and Abdul Rahman Phupho of Miskeen Bagh whose houses got collapsed due to continuous rains.
The statement further said that Mirwaiz also expressed solidarity with the residents of Farsthar Baramulla where dozens of houses collapsed due to land sinking.
“Kashmir had not even recovered from the Sept 2014 floods that God has put them again under the test, adding, the continu¬ous rainfall and flood like situation had be¬come a cause of worry and fear for the people of Kashmir,” Mirwaiz said in the statement is¬sued here.
He appealed people and Dar-ul Khair activ¬ists, workers and mem¬bers to show solidarity and help the victims of the disasters on local and regional level.
