SRINAGAR: A team of Law Enforcement Agency Tuesday inspected various markets across Kashmir Valley and took action against the fertilizer and insecticide dealers who operate in violation of the norms.
Headed by the Director Law Enforcement J&K, the team inspected the markets in Baramulla, Bandipora, Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian, Pulwama, and Budgam districts. In Sopore town of Baramulla district, the team recommended cancellation of licenses to fertilizer dealers including Apple Town Traders, Waseem Shahnaz Fertilizers, and D R Enterprises. They were found operating in contravention of the Fertilizer Control Order 1985.
License of insecticide dealer, Bhat Traders, was also recommended for suspension, as he was found violating the Insecticides Act 1968. In Bandipora, Ashiq Pesticides was found operating in contravention of the Insecticides Act, while two FIRs were lodged against Mohammad Shaban Dar, a resident of Shahgund Sumbal, and Aijaz Ahmad Dar, who hails from Hajin Sonawari. Both the dealers were functioning in contravention of the Fertilizer Control Order.
During inspection in other districts, the team initiated action aginst several dealers of fertilizers and insecticides.
