Tourism players from Jammu hail CM’s response

Srinagar: Various tourism-related association from Jammu Saturday expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for having accepted their demands.
In a joint statement issued here by the heads of various tourism-related organisations thanked Mufti for taking “visionary steps” of developing Mantalai as a major International Yoga Center and removing the traffic check posts from the highway.
“It was main cause of harassment of tourists and among our main demands,” they said.
They also expressed gratitude over fulfillment of other demands, including “announcement of Bani-Basohli-Bhaderwah-Jai as a tourist circuit and Suchetgarh as part of Border tourism on the lines of Wagah Border, developing of Mubarak Mandi as a major tourist attraction, redeveloping the Sanasar Golf Course, starting work on Patnitop ropeway, developing eco-friendly amusement park at various resorts to attract children and students, expansion of the Jammu Airport, and developing the Jammu region as major tourism hub.”
The organisations requested Mufti to also look into their other pending issues.
“Industrial benefits such as subsidized power and tax benefits to tourism industry, and removal of traffic check posts from Domail–Katra to Katra-Shivkhori stretch may also be ordered,” they said.
