SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone informed the House Tuesday that Rs 5.6 crore project is under implementation to tap the tourism potential along Mughal road.
He said Mughal road car rally was also organised for a few years to popularize the area among the tourists.
He was replying to a question from Mohammad Yousuf Bhat in the Legislative Assembly.
The Minister said the government is committed to promote tourism in the state, and that “necessary steps” would be taken to tap the hidden tourism potential of virgin spots in the state including in the Shopian district.
Mughal road, he said, is presently not an all-weather road and is mostly used by the people from Poonch and Rajouri districts for commercial or personal trips to Kashmir Valley.
