SRINAGAR: Independent MLA Engineer Rasheed Ahmed Tuesday slammed the Jammu and Kashmir budget, saying it was eyewash and did not address the ways and measures to rehabilitate flood victims.
“The budget was an eyewash and corporate centric as it did not address the ways and measures to rehabilitate flood victims in JK,” Ahmed said while speaking at discussion on budget in the Assembly. He attacked Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for his remarks that dividends of peace should go to Kashmiris, saying it can’t be achieved by abusing Pakistan and Hurriyat.
“The Government has kept just an amount of Rs 1,500 crore for flood victims against reflected demand of Rs 44,000 crore to rehabilitate flood victims”.
“The least government could have done is to provide a package on pattern of Uttarakhand victims but by announcing a token amount government has played a big joke with the flood victims,” he said.
