KTMF hails govt move for rehab of traders

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Traders and Manufactures Federation has hailed the government move of asking the flood-affected traders to get their details registered within officials.
President Muhammad Yasin Khan called the move healthy sign and hoped rehabilitation will soon be a reality.
Khan, however, said the “insurance clause” as incorporated in the format for registration of trader details was “not applicable.”
“The clause mentioned in the format regarding insurance is not applicable. He said that insurance in most of the cases was carried by financial institutions (banks) to secure their loans and in many cases was undervalued. “We will provide all information of traders but without insurance clause as that is not applicable and happens to be illogical,” he said.
Khan said the government should resolve all the pending issues of traders with regard to rehabilitation including demands for soft loan and tax waivers as submitted in the memorandum.
