Govt arranges Fish sale on Navroz eve

SRINAGAR: On the eve of Navroz, Fisheries Department Friday organised a sale of Trout Fish at its Special Sale Outlet in Gagribal.
Chief Project Officer Marketing Division here, MM Bazaz, told Kashmir Reader that the huge rush of customers was witnessed at the Outlet. “Fish was sold to customers at Rs 300 per kg,” he said.
He said 200 kg of Rainbow Fish had been procured from the department’s Mother Production Center Kokernag, which is the biggest Trout Fish center in Kashmir Valley. To maintain the “best hygiene level” of the Fish during transportation, Bazaz said the department used its recently-purchased refrigerated van to carry the Fish to the Outlet.
“The van can maintain the required temperature and has been procured to help department to carry effective and hygienic marketing of Fish,” he added. Navroz is a festival celebrated by Shia populace of the state on March 21 every year. As Fish is cooked as a special dish on the occasion, the department arranges special sale for the consumers
