3 killed, 35 injured in Budgam accident

Srinagar: Three persons were killed and 35 others injured Friday when the bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Budgam district, police said.
The 48-seater bus (no. JK02L/1677) was on its way to Srinagar from Raithan village when the driver lost control near Palpora village while negotiating a curve, a police spokesperson said.
While two persons died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries at a hospital here, he said, and identified the deceased as Ghulam Hassan, Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh and Ejaz Ahmad Lohar (all residents of Khan Sahib area).
Most of the 35 injured were discharged after administering first aid, but seven seriously injured passengers were still undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Srinagar, he said.
