Will discuss resumption of Indo-Pak talks with Pak envoy: Hurriyat (M)

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Thursday said the party would discuss resumption of talks with India and other political issues related to Kashmir issue with the Pakistan High Commissioner on the eve of Pakistan Day on March 23.
In a statement, a spokesman said that it was decided in a meeting of the amalgam’s executive council held here.
The spokesman said that the participants also decided that party chairman Mirwiaz Umar Farooq will lead a party delegation to attend the function. “The participants decided that Hurriyat delegation would hold detailed deliberations with Pakistan over the resumption of dialogue with India and various other political issues connected with the Kashmir dispute.”
The spokesman while detailing about other issues discussed during the meeting said that the participants termed the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan as a “right step in the right direction.”
He said that the participants expressed hope that following the foreign secretary level talks between the two neighbors, there exists every likelihood that a comprehensive and result oriented dialogue would be initiated between two countries.
“Hurriyat has always desired for friendly relations between India and Pakistan.We have always preferred serious dialogue as a means to solve the issues existing between the two nations,” the spokesman quoting the participants said.
He said that the participants asserted that the party will would support any effort or dialogue process which aims to solve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations and emotions of Kashmiris.
