‘RDD violating transfer norms’

JAMMU: The Bhaderwah and Doda Youth Associations Thursday accused the government of violating norms by not transferring scores of employees serving in Rural Development Department(RDD) from past decade in these areas.
Talking to Kashmir Reader, general secretaries of both the Associations said that the department was following no transfer policy in these areas as large number of employees is working in these blocks from past ten years.
“Two governments completed their tenure but several officials in the RDD continue to stay put where they have been posted ten years back. As per transfer policy of the J&K, no government servant has a right to serve or continue his/her service at a particular place of their choice for more than three years,” Bhaderwah Youth Association general secretary Krishan Chand said.
He said that these employees have been using the influence of ministers to occupy the positions at the department for so long.
“Most of the officials have completed more than half of their services at one Block. The officials who were posted as Work Supervisors 20 years ago in block Bhaderwah are working at the same place. Similarly many Village level workers (VLW) and other officials have not been transferred from past ten years,” he added.
Doda Youth Association General Secretary Mohammad Alam said that in block Ghat (Doda), the employees posted as VLWs, MPW and senior assistants have not been transferred for more than 10 years.
They appealed the new state government headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to intervene into the matter.
