Jammu: Minister for Revenue Javed Mustafa Mir Tuesday directed Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Udhampur and Ramban districts to provide water, blankets, food and other facilities to passengers stranded on the Srinagar-Jammu Highway
Sources told Kashmir Reader that Mir issued the directions after taking stock of the situation on the highway, which remained closed for vehicular traffic for the third consecutive day Tuesday.
Mir also directed traffic, police and other concerned agencies to take immediate steps to restore traffic on the highway .
Meanwhile, Minister for R&B, Floriculture, Garden and Parks, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari convened a meeting at Udhampur to take stock of restoration work on Highway .
He also reviewed the relief measures being put in place for the stranded passengers by the district administration.
The Minister directed the district administration to maintain close coordination with army and 35 BRTF for early restoration of the Highway and emphasized on providing requisite assistance to the stranded passengers.
