Govt promises ‘necessary measures’ in floriculture

SRINAGAR: Minister for Public Works, Floriculture and Gardens, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Monday said the government would initiate “necessary measures” to promote floriculture sector.
Bukhari was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the one-day Floriculture Workshop in winter capital Jammu.
The Minister underscored the need for providing technical guidance to the farmers for cultivation of high-yielding flowers for better marketing.
He said the floral industry has an “immense potential” for employment generation and earning foreign exchange.
