SRINAGAR: At least 7,963 unemployed youths have been provided benefits under the Voluntary Service Allowance (VSA), government said Sunday.
Quoting a review meeting convened by Deputy Commissioner here, an official handout issued here said the beneficiaries included 2,491 educated, unemployed women.
“The expenditure to the tune of Rs 232.00 lakh has been booked upto January 2015,” it said.
Under the Self Employment Scheme, out of 450 sponsorship cases with various banks for disbursement of loan, 280 cases have been sanctioned by the banks up to January 2015, it said. It involves a capital investment of Rs5.18 crore in different trades, it added.
