Police recover 27 kg charas in Ganderbal, 3 held

Srinagar: Police on Sunday said they have arrested three drug peddlers from different parts of Ganderbal district and seized 27.5 kilograms of cannabis hemp and 250 gram of cannabis powder from them.
According to a police spokesman, acting on a tip off, police recovered 26.5 kgs of cannabis hemp from the possession of Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, son of Ali Mohammad Bhat, of Gamwara at Gamwara.
A case FIR No.185/14 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered against him, the spokesman said.
Another drug peddler Nazir Ahmad Rather alias Kanwar of Wakoora was arrested with 250 gms of cannabis powder at Wakoora crossing. A case FIR No.13/15 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this regard.
The spokesman said that a police party recovered 1kg of cannabis hemp from the possession of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, son of Rajab of Batwina at Shadipora Bridge.
The spokesman said that a case FIR No.26/15 under section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered in this regard.
