Srinagar: Farmers along with officials from April onwards can access the info portal under the National e-Governance Plan(NeGP) of GoI at different agriculture offices regarding schemes, inputs, soil health management, fertilizer and micro-nutrient usage, seed certification and research and development in this sector.
This was disclosed during a daylong training programme on NeGP held Sunday at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi to orient the field officers and officials about the scheme. The training programme was inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah.
In handout issued by the department the NeGP -Agriculture has been launched by GoI to improve the access of farmers to Information and Services throughout the crop cycle, for more effective management of various schemes implemented by Agriculture and allied sectors. The farmers and officials can access the information from the Chief Agriculture Officers and Sub Divisional Officers from April, 2015 onwards, the statement added.
The training was impacted by Director Finance Agriculture Production Department Mohammad Rafiq Hajam and resource person of department Fayaz Ahmad. The training was attended by the officers and officials of Agriculture & Horticulture Departments.
Under e-governance scheme Agriculture & Horticulture Departments at block and sub divisional level shall be connected in the first phase and all information regarding package of practices, inputs, soil health management, fertilizer and micro-nutrient usage, seed certification and analysis. Besides research and development in Agriculture sector shall be available to the farmers and all stake holders on farmers’ portal Ministry of Agriculture GoI.
This portal has been created to provide relevant information and services to the farming community and private sector through the use of information and communication technologies, to supplement the existing delivery channels provided for by the department.
