10 gamblers arrested from Srinagar, Anantnag

Srinagar: Police on Sunday said they have arrested 10 gamblers from Srinagar and Anantnag.
In a statement, a police spokesman said that five gamblers were arrested form Alochi Bagh area of the capital city and stake money of Rs 25,000 was recovered from the spot.
The spokesman identified the gamblers as Mohammad Aslam Sheikh, son of Abdul Ahad; Feroz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Bashir Ahmad, residents of Aloochi Bagh; Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, son of Abdul Rahim of Ichgam, Budgam; Mohammad Ramzan Sheikh, son of Roshan Sheikh, of Qazibagh; and Mohammad Altaf Dar son of Mohammad Sadiq resident of Nowgam, Srinagar.
The spokesman said five gamblers were also arrested from Chee village of Anantnag district and stake money of Rs 55,000 was recovered from the gambling site.
He said the arrested persons include Hamidullah Bhat of Qazigund, Ashiq Hussain of Lazibal, Waheed Ahmad Mir of Mir Bazaar, Nazir Ahmad Nanda of Naibasti and Mohammad Afzal Beigh of Khrew Malpora.
Police has registered a case in this regard.
