SRINAGAR: Demanding an inquiry into alleged illegal appointments in JK Cements Limited (JKCL) during the last regime, BJP leader Dr Hina Bhat Saturday asked for “infusing new life” into the Corporation to save it from closure.
“Once a profitable corporation, the JK cements has been pushed into ruins by the negligence of the management at the JK Cements,” Bhat said in a statement issued here.
She said the state has been suffering hefty losses due to decline of the premier Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
“The reason is that there is no coal available to run the plant,” she said.
She said the managements at JK Cements “is responsible for the decline”, adding that since 2011 the graph of the company has gone down steeply.
In view of low production and less revenue generation, JK Cements is in a “messy situation”, she said.
