Police sources told Kashmir Reader that a case (no: 20, under Sections 427 and 353) was registered against the MLA and investigations have been taken up.

The incident took place on Wednesday evening after MLA Pahalgam visited the office of the CEO and allegedly asked him to grant permission for the passage of construction material to his workers, official sources said.
As the CEO refused to obey the diktat of the MLA, he and his workers got infuriated and abused and manhandled him besides ransacking his office.
The CEO after the incident filed a written complaint against the MLA with Deputy Commissioner, SSP and district and sessions judge Anantnag seeking action against the legislator.

As a part of investigation we have collected the list of the people who were present on spot at the time of the incident,” police sources told Kashmir Reader.
They said that all the witnesses, few of whom are officials of different departments, will be summoned to the police station for recording their statements. “The case will be probed fairly,” said a police official.
Meanwhile, Bhat said that whatever happened was recorded in the CCTV camera. “Police can easily identify the people who manhandled me and ransacked the office. Besides there were many officials present at the time of the incident,” the CEO told Kashmir Reader.
