SRINAGAR: Hoteliers’ associations KHAROF and KHARA Thursday hailed the Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu’s response to their suggestions and demands made at the pre-budget meeting held earlier this week.
“The Minister was kind to give a patient hearing to the delegation while discussing these matters. During the interactive discussions he appreciated most of the problems explained to him and assured the delegation that these problems would be seriously considered before the state budget-2015-16 is given a fine-tuning for being presented in the state legislature,” the associations said in a joint press statement issued here.
They said a delegation of Coordination Committee of KHAROF and KHARA represented by associations’ presidents attended the meeting on behalf of the hotel industry.
They said the delegation discussed with Drabu various issues pertaining to the industry, bringing into his notice the issue of airfares, service tax, turnover tax slab, purchase of goods from outside State, tourism publicity, construction of common STPs, and extension of tourism incentive scheme.
