Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) Wednesday expressed concern over the threat posed by stray dogs to the human population across the Valley.
In a statement, a party spokesman said that expressed grief and 1concern over the unfortunate death of two kids, who where mauled by ferocious dogs at Lachhipora Handwara and attack of a wild bear, in which two persons were seriously injured in the populated locality of Kahanpora –Handwara.
The spokesman said that the ever-increasing number of stray dogs in towns as well as in rural areas was posing serious problems for the population.
He alleged that administration seems to take no interest in safeguarding the lives of humans from the harm caused by these ferocious animals and was rather more trumpeting about the safety of dogs.
The spokesman said that since most of the rural areas of Handwara lie close to the forests wild animal attacks occurs every other day.
Criticizing the Wild Life Department and other concerned authorities, the spokesman alleged that the callousness and negligence of these authorities and inaction over escalating animal attacks causing loss of human lives was deplorable.
Meanwhile, the spokesman said that a delegation led by Ghulam Nabi Wasim visited Lacchipora Handwara area and expressed solidarity with the family of the kids killed in the dog attack recently.
