SRINAGAR: Minister of State (MoS) for Power, Housing and Urban Development, and Industries & Commerce, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Tuesday directed the authorities to ensure “optimal use” of the land allotted to the bus terminal at Pantha Chowk here.
He gave the directions to Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) and Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) for regulation and streamlining of the traffic system in this summer capital of the state, an official handout issued here said.
The MoS was on a visit to Pantha Chowk and was accompanied by Vice Chairman LAWDA, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, and Engineers of ERA, it said.
“Mir directed the concerned engineers to take immediate steps for road widening in the area to streamline traffic movement in the city. He also asked the Commissioner SMC to relocate the fountain at Pantha Chowk to ensure smooth movement of vehicles,” it added.
