Jammu: After remaining closed for a day, Srinagar-Jammu highway was partially thrown open for vehicular traffic on Tuesday, as 600 light motor vehicles and a thousand trucks stranded at Qazigund were allowed to proceed towards the winter capital.
“600 stranded vehicles and 100 trucks were allowed to proceed towards Jammu from Qazigund today,” Inspector General of Police (IGP) Traffic Muneer Khan told Kashmir Reader.
He said traffic will be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar on Tuesday if the weather stays fine .
“From 4 am to 7:30 am, light motor vehicles will be allowed towards Valley. Similarly, Valley bound trucks will be allowed to ply on highway from 10 am to 2 pm,” he said.
Meanwhile, following heavy snowfall , Kashmir Valley experienced pleasant sunshine on Monday as the Metrological department forecast improvement in weather over the next few days.
