Srinagar: National Front chairman Nayeem Ahmad Khan Sunday said that women in Kashmir have been victims of “worst kind of human rights violations.”
In a statement, Khan said that while the world observed the International Women’s Day “the miseries and victimization of Kashmiri women by Indian troops and police personnel continue unabated.”
“Thousands of women are among the one lakh civilians killed by forces in last two and a half decades. The state terrorism has rendered more than 22 thousand women widowed while thousands have been molested,” he alleged.
He said that thousands of women suffered the loss of their sons and brothers. “Thousands are known as half widows due to disappearances of their husbands.”
