Ministers’ panel to visit Valley today to assess needs of flood hit

JAMMU: Chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed directed the newly-constituted cabinet sub-committee (CSC) on Saturday to visit the valley to assess immediate and long-term needs of the people affected by last year’s floods so that rehabilitation measures can be fast-tracked.
The CSC led by deputy chief minister Dr Nirmal Singh, who holds the charge of power and housing and urban development departments, will visit the Valley on Sunday and interact with the affected people, especially traders.
The CSC comprises minister for justice, law & parliamentary affairs, relief & rehabilitation Syed Basharat Bukhari, PHE and flood control minister Sukhnandan Kumar, health and medical education minister Chaudhary Lal Singh, finance minister Dr Haseeb Drabu, minister for public works, floriculture and gardens & parks Syed Altaf Bukhari and IT minister Imran Raza Ansari.
The ministers of the committee will also review the working of their respective departments during their visit to the Valley.
