JMC removes encroachments

Jammu: Officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation(JMC) Saturday conducted an anti encroachment here.
JMC’s Enforcement Staff led by the Chief Enforcement Officer demolished two Khokhas erected by Manga Ram and Gura Ditta on Municipal Land near Tanga Stand Canal Head, Jammu
“After removing encroachments from  footpaths and pavements the team also lifted 15 reharies from City Chowk, Indira Chowk, Canal Head, Akhnoor Road, Jammu which were free movement of vehicular traffic and also causing hindrance and obstruction to the pedestrians,” according to a statement.
“The drive was conducted with the help of police led by I/c Police Post Canal Head, Jammu and also Police Force from District Police Lines, Jammu,” the statement said.
The team also inspected the shops and various other outlets in Digiana, Shastri Nagar etc and seized about 10 kgs of Polythene bags and recovered  Rs 5400 fine  from 13  defaulters.
