KEA(C) pins hope on new goverment for economy revival

SRINAGAR: Expressing hope from the new PDP-BJP coalition government, Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) led Showkat Ahmad Chowdhary has said government formation was badly needed when the state is yet to overcome from the damages caused due to worst ever floods last year.
In statement issued by the alliance, Chowdhary congratulated Mufti Mohammad Syed for taking over the reins of the power.
Chowdhary said the formation of the new government led Mufti has given hope to flood-devastated people of the state.
“State especially Kashmir Valley is going through worst phase and the economy is in shambles. Formation of the new government is welcome step and the chief minister should lose no opportunity in mitigating the sufferings of the people,” said Chowdhary.
Chowdhary said both PDP and BJP have historic opportunity to serve the state’s people in the time of crisis and take the state to prosperity. The alliance hoped that Mufti should seek early sanction of the rehabilitation package of Rs 44000 core from the GoI.
KEA Chairman also urged other trade bodies to repose faith in the new government led by Mufti Syeed and support him for the rehabilitation of the state.
Chowdhary said tourism sector has suffered immensely and before the new season sets in, the rehabilitation package should be released. While reacting to the Union Budget, KEA said GoI has ignored state’s demands in the budget but are hopeful that state’s budget would help fill the gap.
“We are hopeful that the state’s budget will be people friendly and help state overcome economic crisis. Besides, tourism the budget should incorporate sops for horticulture and education sector,” said Chowdhary.
