Hurriyats pay tribute to slain militants

Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference Jammu Kashmir and Hurriyat Conference (M) Sunday paid tributes to the militants who died in a gunfight with army in Tral area on February 28.
Two Hizbul Mujahideen militants Shabir Ahmad Mir of Dadsara and Idries Ahmad Lone of Noorpora were killed in an overnight encounter with army in Tral area of Pulwama district.
In a statement, HCJK leader Shabir Ahmad Shah said that people of Kashmir were indebted to the sacrifices given by the people of Tral. “Tral is a land of martyrs and we’re indebted to their sacrifices.”
Shah visited the residence of the slain militants and expressed solidarity with their family members, the statement said.
“Albeit being highly educated, these youth sacrificed their lives for precious cause instead of chasing material gains thereby left a heap of responsibilities upon our shoulders,” he added.
Paying tributes to the slain militants, Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman said the sacrifices of Kashmiris “are the priceless asset of struggle in Kashmir.”
The spokesman expressed solidarity with family members of the slain militants.
