Srinagar: Department of Animal Husbandry is committed for the betterment of the people associated with the dairy or poultry farming, District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Tasaduq Jeelani, said Saturday.
He was speaking on the occasion of a daylong awareness programme organised New Delhi-sponsored CHR scheme by the department in the south Kashmir district, an official handout issued here.
“He urged upon the people, especially unemployed youth, to come forward and utilize sponsored programmes. He said the government is committed to the betterment of people,” the handout said.
During the camp, the participating “progressive farmers” were informed about various schemes, it said, adding they were also informed about various diseases of the poultry and dairy animals.
“It was also given…that Rs 4.62 lakh incentive have been paid to 77 beneficiaries under pregnant cow in hilly areas, 52 clinical camps, five fertility camps and three awareness camps have been organised during the year. Under DEDS, 18 cases have been sanctioned while 38 cases have been sanctioned under VCF,” it added.
