SRINAGAR: New Delhi has approved the proposal for development of Rice Milling Cluster in the state, the government said Friday.
“The Government of India has approved the DSR proposal for development of Rice Milling Cluster,” an official handout issued here quoted the Managing Director SICOP R LTickoo stating in a meeting held in Jammu.
The meeting was held in order to boost Rice Mills on modern techniques, it said, adding that it was attended by Director MSME Jammu, Financial Advisor and CAO SICOP, Officers of Industries and Commerce Department and association of Rice Mill Cluster and their members.
“The objective was to discuss and finalise the action plan and interventions for developing these Clusters,” it added.
According to the statement, Tickoo asked the stakeholders to “positively participate” in the programme for growth of rice industries in the state.
He said the cluster activities should be tailored as per specific requirements of the industries, it added. Director MSME Virinder Sharma assured his full assistance in the endeavor, it said, adding that he asked the industries and stakeholders to discuss “any problems… with DC, MSME New Delhi to find solutions.”
Cluster Development Consultant BN Kapoor presented the proposed action plan on Cluster Development and shared his experience regarding development of Karnal Rice Milling Cluster, “which has grown tremendously,” it said.
