SRINAGAR: Tableaux artists from the state Thursday met the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi.
An official handout issued here said the artists showcased their talent before the President, highlighting the “themes of unity in diversity, brotherhood, women empowerment and secularism.”
President and the other foreign NCC delegations from Russia, Singapore, Vietnam, Bhutan, Nepal and Sri Lanka highly appreciated the performances, it added.
Various folk dances of the state such as Rouf of Kashmir, Flower dance of Ladakh, and Kud dance of Jammu were showcased on the occasion, it said.
The state tableaux were presented by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, it added.
