SRINAGAR: To review the performance of various banks and government agencies for third quarter of the current fiscal, District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held Thursday in Poonch district of Jammu region.
Chairing the meeting, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch, M H Malik, appreciated the banks for implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) and opening 24,301 new accounts in the district, an official handout issued here said.
He stressed on 100 per cent financial inclusion under the scheme, it added.
Reviewing the performance under various government-sponsored schemes, he asked the banks to ensure that all bottlenecks are removed and also advised them to have a “speedy disposal” of all the cases in a time-bound manner, it said.
He further stressed upon the need for financial literacy, it said, adding that he instructed all banks and government agencies to hold awareness camps to make people aware about various schemes and programmes of the government.
