SRINAGAR: Provincial members of All Jammu and Kashmir Patwari Association held a protest demonstration Thursday here against the delay in the departmental promotion.
“The departmental promotional committee was convened today under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner. Owing to his busy schedule it was not held,” provincial president of AJKPA Feroze Ahmad Khan said.
The protesting patwaris accused government of unjustly delaying the departmental promotions which according to them creates hurdles in the work in offices.
“Since last 3 years the departmental promotional committee has not been organized due to which both the patwaris and general public both are suffering,” Khan said.
Khan said that dozens of posts for ‘Girdawar’ and Naib Tehsildar’ are lying vacant which should be filled immediately. “Departmental promotion is a right to patwaris and delaying such promotion is injustice to us,” said khan.
“Since past three years the promotions are not being done. There is no reason with authorities for delaying in convening the promotional committee. By doing this they are only playing a cruel joke with patwaris,” Khan said.
The protesting patwaris appealed the divisional commissioner to personally look into the matter. “The departmental promotional committee should be convened before February 2. Otherwise we will have to come on roads to get what rightfully belongs to us,” added Khan.
