Srinagar: Strict security measures have been put in place across the state in the wake of Republic day.
A three tier security has thrown around Bakshi stadium- the main venue of Republic day celebrations- with hundreds of police and paramilitary guarding the vital security and public installations in the city.
The police and paramilitary CRPF have erected extra check posts and sealed all the entry points leading to Srinagar to thwart any militant attack.
Sharp shooters have been stationed at roof tops while sniffer dogs have been pressed into service to detect any explosive material, police sources said.
They said mobile phones and internet services were likely to be interrupted during the time parade would be held at Bakshi Stadium to mark the republic day.
A day ahead of Jan 26, strict security measures forces the people to stay indoors while skeletal traffic was witnessed on the roads in Srinagar.
