SRINAGAR: Vodafone Saturday collaborated with the Road Transport Officer (RTO) offices in Jammu and Srinagar for an “active campaign” on safe driving.
“To promote road safety and adherence to traffic rules among residents of J&K under the National Safety Week initiative, Vodafone decided to spread awareness through a multilevel awareness campaign to make a greater impact,” the company said in a press statement issued here.
Operations Director North, Bjas Murthy, said the company is happy to partner with the RTO offices for the campaign.
“It has given us an opportunity to motivate people of Jammu and Srinagar to follow traffic rules and make roads in these cities a lot safer,” he said in the statement.
The statement said the leaflets about traffic rules were distributed among people by the volunteers from Vodafone and by the students from various schools.
They also displayed placards provided by Vodafone at important traffic points in both the cities, it added. The volunteers also interacted with the co-passengers of drivers who were found violating traffic rules, it said.
