SRINAGAR: Awareness camps were organised Saturday by the Horticulture department for the farmers in Ramban district of Jammu region.
The camps, meant for apple growers, were held at Dalwah and Dharmund in Gool and Batote blocks of the district, an official handout issued here said.
“Apple growers and PRI representatives participated in the camps. The growers were provided training on organic farming and moisture management,” it said.
“Innovative and modern techniques of horticulture” were demonstrated to the growers for better quality apple production, it said, adding that they were also informed about “canopy management.” The growers were also informed about the benefits of organic farming, it added.
