Shia bodies protest blasphemous sketches

JAMMU: Shia Muslim organizations of Jammu held a protest against the Indian news channels which showed the blasphemous sketches published in a French magazine.
As per reports, hundreds of the members of the community held a protest demonstration in front of press club here on Wednesday.
“Without having the knowledge of any religion, people should not screen or publish such blasphemous things. Islam a religion of peace,” Anjuman-e-Imamia secretary Prof. Sujat Khan told media persons.
He said that in India there are people who belong to different cultures and beliefs. “It really hurts when a religion is targeted without knowing about it. It is our submission to the press council of India that a check should be put on such channels who try to disturb the religious faith,” he said.
He also warned the news channels of dire consequences, if they continue such practice.
Anjuman-e-Hussaini Bathindi president Sarwar Khan and general secretary Ejaz Zaidi including the organizations who have participated besides All Ladakh Students Association, Anjuman-e-Haidery and Anjuman-e-Hussaini Bathindi also participated in the protest.
